There has been a lack of solutions for keeping gear attached to you. Lanyards get tangled and hang out to be snagged. Diving retractors are generally too heavy, bulky and expensive for light gear.  Our high-strength, spring-loaded reel is a compact 35mm housing, holding 2 feet of thick 2mm plastic coated steel cable. Fitted with twin spring-gate, swiveling carabiners, it clips to: flashlight, folding knife, cell phone, keys, or wallet. When using the split-ring, it quickly switches from tool to tool and stays out of the way till needed. It features a high-impact ABS shell, and brushed-steel, Civilian Lab logos on titanium color backgrounds. Reel holds 170g before extending.

]]> Being jammed in confined spaces for hours is an unfortunate part of the business for many professionals we serve. Whether its a military unit in a personnel carrier, a pilot in a cockpit, drivers in a HumVee, or a journalist in the back of a goat truck, they all have to bring their gear, and all may need to relocate in a hurry. This is the environment for which our Evac line of sling-packs has been developed. Slim shaped, for fast manoeuvering in crowds, they can be stored in vehicles/lockers, and are quick to take on or off. They are also ambidextrous, and unlike others in this class, are actually comfortable to wear. The main padded strap is cocked at either the right or left lower corner, so the pad aligns ergonomically in the correct body-hugging direction. There is no slack, or gapping away from the body as is typical with similar single shoulder packs. The bag can be rotated to the chest for on-the-go access, and all pockets are designed to face the user in this mode on either the right or left side. This means the user can go from wearing the pack on his back, to driving a vehicle with it on his chest in just a few seconds. One-strap also makes shouldering a long-gun natural - unlike a regular backpack.

]]> A true messenger in concept, it stays very flat when carrying loads like a laptop, but its ingenious construction allows it to square-out to accept a huge load-out. The similarities to its conventional cousins end there. The full suite of tactical/professional features included make it a genuine work-bag. The shoulder strap is sewn directy to the sides with huge x-stitches so there is no hardware to break under heavy loads. The strap has a thick, comfortable pad with modular loops for attaching pouches, etc. and a quick-release buckle with lock for emergency drops. The webbing used throughout the bag is a class-leading diving-tank strapping that is stiff yet soft on skin. The front surface under the flap is covered in modular (MOLLE-compliant) webbing to load-out numerous pouches, etc., but keep them hidden/protected under the unassuming flap. The flap-straps compresses bulk with oversized lock-buckles, and the front has a large loop-fastener area which also fits our available i.d. window patch. The patch can be secured to the flap w/ our Civilian® Rewind™ cable gear retractor. There is a large zippered pocket on the flap and the flap itself unzips in the front, to allow access to the main cargo bay without opening the buckles!

There is also modular webbing on both sides of the bag for attaching side-pouches (for water bottles, etc.) and some more next to the rubberized top-handle. The interior of the main bay is covered with 4 stuff-pockets for magazines, bottles, first-aid kit, etc. The under-flap is a large, clear, weather-proof window for maps/documents that can be quickly consulted on the go. The interior area behind the front flap also contains a zipped organizer panel for all the pens, flash-drives, knives, etc. that most users would ever need to carry. There is also a heavily padded laptop sleeve carrier lined in our unique quited soft fabric, and closed with its own adjustable strap (up to 16" PC.) The front of the laptop area is a large loop-fastener to accomodate many patches and organizers such as our law-enforcement-specific Stick-Up™ holster for any auto-pistol (sold separately). For airport travel, the bag's back can be mounted onto rolling luggage handles via a webbing strip, that can also support belt-mount-type accessories or be used as an additional handle.

The design is finished off with two flat-pockets at the ends (of different heights) for quick access to longer items. Silent YKK zippers w/ pullers that are user-serviceable in the field are used throughout. The two flap-slash zipper-pullers are even marked with rubber sleeves for tactile location even at night. The color matching on all the hardware, Cordura® fabric, and trim is excellent, and from a functional and aesthetic perspective. The Defense Courier™ is an amazing value compared with messenger bags in any market.

Boot-lacer, clip, lanyard, patch 2-pack-kit.

The wise front-line soldier's practice of field-marking one's blood-group on the boot-heel (typically with duct-tape and felt-marker), inspired this Hazard 4® exclusive blood-type plaque. The 3-d injection-moulded rubber marker is far more durable than the traditional solution since it cannot be wiped off, scratched-off, or dissolved by most solvents. A more professional choice for a unit or individual operator in its appearance, it more importantly prevents mis-reading (imagine B+ becoming B- after some trail-wear). The form-factor allows multiple fast-mounting methods. In keeping with the on-boot tradition, weave them into boot laces, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally (slotted holes allow for different lace-hole spacings). Wear them like/with dog-tags (i.d. medallions) or on a lanyard around the neck. Use paracord to make them into a bracelet. Sew them onto clothing/gear or Velcro™ backing using the perimiter trench. Or clip them anywhere since they are sold with a durable aluminum black carabiner. They come in sets of two with one clip in a variety of subdued colors, and feature a raised guilloche pattern in the background to break up mud/ice.
